Most of the Custom lamp boxes are made of metal and have a metal handle on top of the box. The best way to make a lamp box is to cut the wood using a jigsaw and then sand it down. Then use a drill and holes in the box to hold the lampshade. You can use a screw or a nail to keep the box together. A lampshade may not fit perfectly into the box.
